Creating a Lasting Legacy
“Our Work for the Future: Be a Spark of Light,
a Center of Love and a Leaven in the World.”
Bishop Dingman, April 1987
More and more people come to Emmaus House each year to enjoy the many ministries that we provide. To meet the growing and changing needs, Emmaus seeks a more accommodating facility. The current retreat house is too small and lacks adequate restrooms. Also, parts of the house no longer meet city code. There is inadequate on-street parking, and the building lacks accessibility, especially for those who cannot climb stairs. Furthermore, the rooms are cramped and cannot seat more than 10-12 people comfortably.
These factors have deterred people from attending spiritual retreats and have hindered the ability of others to participate in individual spiritual direction. As a result of the lack of accessibility of the house, many members of the Diocese and community cannot participate in the ministries Emmaus offers. No amount of renovation can overcome the many limitations of the current location.
Please consider being a part of the legacy and ministry of Emmaus House! For more information on our needs, as well as details on the plan for meeting those needs, please click here!
