Sixth Annual Ignatian Retreat: The Heart of Ignatian Spirituality
The Heart of Ignatian Spirituality
This year, as Emmaus House transitions from its longtime location in Des Moines to its new home in Urbandale, we are excited to have our very own Fr. Dan Krettek (Co-Director of Emmaus House since 1997) as presenter of our Sixth Annual Ignatian Retreat. For over 55 years, Fr. Krettek has been formed and trained in Ignatian Spirituality, beginning at a Jesuit high school and continuing in various and countless ways ever since.

Fr. Krettek's favorite description of Ignatian Spirituality comes from Fr. Gene Merz, SJ (one of the founders of Emmaus House): "The heart of Ignatian Spirituality is reflection on experience in light of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ." During this Sixth Annual Ignatian Retreat, Fr. Krettek will share with us his reflections on experience of Ignatian Spirituality, as both a spiritual director and directee, and then invite us into our own reflections on experience. We hope you will join us in person or via Zoom for this wonderful opportunity to grow in deeper intimacy with God and refresh your spirit! No prior experience with Ignatian Spirituality is required. As always, all are welcome!
