A Transformative Journey Into the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola
Do you have an active prayer life but desire a deeper faith? Are you seeking a more intimate relationship with God, yourself, and others? Then it may be time to journey into the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life.
What Are the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life?
The Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (SEEL) are designed to help you encounter God in a more contemplative and personal way — in all aspects of creation and in your daily life.
This 32-week journey involves meditations, contemplations, and prayer practices compiled by St. Ignatius of Loyola. These exercises draw us into a profound encounter with God, leading to a more intimate relationship with God and generous service of others. Emmaus House will be your guide on this journey to a deeper awareness of God’s presence.

What Others Have to Say About Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life
My experience with the group at the Emmaus House working through the Ignatian Exercises was life-changing. I don’t say that about many things. I loved the rhythms of daily prayer that began to be built into my personal life. And to be on this journey with others who were so willing to share their experiences with Jesus and scripture was priceless. I began to see and experience familiar scriptures differently as I sat alone with them and the Lord, as well as gaining so much spiritual treasure as I listened to others express their experiences with God and his word in the midst of everyday life.

When I first discerned whether or not to participate in the retreat, my first thought was 32 weeks, wow, I don’t know if I have the perseverance to do that! Well, thankfully, the Holy Spirit took over. The time spent during the exercises was probably the best time spiritually that has ever happened to me. During this time, I was able to develop a daily spiritual conversation with God, which I continue today. I really didn’t have this happening before the retreat started. I feel so blessed now to have the opportunity to talk to God, one-on-one, and share with him my desires and needs. I am truly grateful for all that I have gained spiritually as a result of the retreat.

The Spiritual Exercises provided by the Emmaus House have enabled me to get closer with my faith. The class truly opened my spiritual heart to how much God loves each and every one of us. I would encourage all people of faith to participate in a class like this to experience God’s daily presence in all things.
