The Spiritual Work of Racial Justice

Join Emmaus House for this transformative journey during the season of Lent as we pray with Patrick Saint-Jean, SJ’s The Spiritual Work of Racial Justice. A marriage of Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises and the interior work necessary to deepen our commitment to racial justice, this intense journey will require a commitment of time, openness, and humility. Participants will pray with material daily for 30-45 minutes, followed by journaling reflecting on their prayer. Each week participants will gather to share their experiences in a small group setting and learn from each other.

Racial Justice.jpg

“The point of the Spiritual Exercises is not to wallow in our own sin or focus on the ways we have failed Jesus. The point is to encounter Jesus, grow closer to Jesus, and follow Jesus. So when we sit at the feet of our crucified Jesus, we ask, ‘What have I done for Christ? What am I doing for Christ? What will I do for Christ?’ If Christ’s face is that of someone who is experiencing the pain of racism, will it change us?”
