A Song & A Prayer: Dark Night of the Soul

Loreena McKennitt's song, Dark Night of the Soul, is a musical rendition of St. John of the Cross' spiritual classic, which narrates the soul's journey to union with God. It speaks of growing beyond the clarity and comfort of 'head knowledge' to the loving, yet often disorienting, realm of 'knowing with the heart.' This morning of prayer will reflect upon the song, and our own experience of moving from the head to the heart.
